It’s Christmas and Seth and Carly have reconciled , but, there is a murder and Carly’s brother Bruce is missing.

When Seth is called out to a murder, he discovers the victim is the girlfriend of his brother in law Bruce. And Bruce is no where to be found. Is Bruce responsible or a victim ? Seth and Carly work together to solve the murder, find Bruce and have a family Christmas.

This series is written by Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliott. The main characters are introduced in the Rogue River series, but this book can be read as a stand alone. Very enjoyable read.

Dead in Her Tracks (Rogue Winter, #2)Dead in Her Tracks by Kendra Elliot

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novella is part of a series set in small town Oregon and superbly written by Kenda Elliot and Melinda Leigh. This is the second in the Rogue Winter series.

It’s Christmas and there have now been two murders in Solitude. This is not how Zane and Stevie saw their first Christmas going. Is this murder tied to the earlier one? Are both of the murders tied to the missing women ?

A fast paced romantic thriller. Kendra and Melinda pack a punch into a novella. Twists, turns, and surprise ending that will have your jaw dropping.

I absolutely love all the novellas in each of the Rogue series.

Death Takes a Letter (Darcy Sweet Mystery #21)Death Takes a Letter by K.J. Emrick

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Colby is growing up fast, Smudge is getting frail, Darcy is expecting, and a friend has a 40 year old mystery.

Her friend Linda has found love letters addressed to her deceased mother. Linda has always thought her mother died in her sleep of natural causes, but the decades old letters throw new light on her death.

As always, it’s fun to visit Darcy and everyone in Misty Hollow. A fun, fast paced read with a surprise ending

Beach Lawyer (Beach Lawyer Series)Beach Lawyer by Avery Duff

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

If you find adult language disturbing, this is not the book for you.

Slow to start, the story does pick up some as the story evolves. I enjoyed the story and the setting. The author paints a picture so well, at times you feel you are actually in the scene .

I generally enjoy legal thrillers, but, at times in this story I felt I needed a law degree. It was fast paced and exciting at times but I also found large pockets of tediousness .

Over all, it held my attention enough that I will read this author again.

Laced In Lies

Laced In Lies by Colleen Helme
Laced In Lies (Shelby Nichols, #10)
by Colleen Helme

A lot of little things happening that converge into a explosive ending.

First Shelby is trying to help a old school friend and of course gets into a sticky situation. Ramos to the rescue.

Uncle Joey needs her to accompany Miguel to New York for a Broadway audition and she meets some of Uncle Joey’s long lost family. Lots of secrets are exposed and brought to light.

Dimples needs help with a drug case and his personal life.

Ramos needs help but won’t admit it or accept any help when offered. Secrets of his past are revealed that make you love him even more.

Colleen Helme weaves all these little background stories and others into a really exciting and surprise ending. And of course, leaves you on the edge of your seat in anticipation for the next book.

Several little things have been set into motion for the next book and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

As always a exciting, funny, nail biting, laugh out loud, thoughtful and leaves you wanting more story. Well done.

Until Tomorrow (Boot Creek #3)Until Tomorrow by Nancy Naigle

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flynn has chosen the wrong guy yet again. Is there a special someone just for her ? So many things need to be repaired at the B&B and this has Flynn re-evaluating what she really wants to do with her life. She so badly wants someone to love and family.

Ford is back in town as a guest lecturer at a near by school and he has fond memories of his time spent with Flynn. Ford has so many memories of the way Flynn made him feel a year ago at his friends wedding. He’s back for a month and would like to go back to Alaska with a wife, preferably Flynn. Ford has the same desires as Flynn, someone to love and a family.

I enjoyed this book immensely . It was very entertaining watching two people with the same hopes, dreams and desires find each other. And it was very uplifting to see them find each other.

Burning Resolution (Stonebrooke #1)

5 stars

I LOVED this book.

I laughed so much at Erica at the gym and when Zack tried to get her to eat healthy. I can feel her pain 🙂

Fast paced, full of twists and turns, witty dialog and a surprise ending.

You can’t go wrong reading this book. Looking forward to the next in this series.
